It's a friend of mine from MIT's site which is targeted towards being a community for builders of all types - physical, digital, whatever. They have nice tools to explain to others how to do just about anything. There were a few nice how-tos on chumby coding that I used last year. Doing a "how to" on making a media solution like what you're putting together might be interesting. (Although I'd still hope that you could get the particulars about config'ing onto the wiki for the project). Have you checked out Instructables?
